FROM THE PADDOCK TO THE PLATE ART EXHIBITION

View original artworks created by South Australian John McCartin, who specialises in painting landscapes and cows in a similar style to Hans Heysen, and Ann Morton from NSW, celebrated for her detailed still life paintings of roses on fine lace tablecloths. Both aritsts have focused on Hunter Valley scenes - dairy cows, herefords, gum trees and in Anne's case bottles of Hunter wine with bunches of grapes and champagne & strawberries. This exhibition of old pumps and motors, takes up 1.5acres of land on the grounds of St John College, opposite Campbell's Store Craft Centre Morpeth, 175 Swan Street, Morpeth. WORLD'S BIGGEST SLEEPOVER

The inaugural two day -World's Biggest Sleepover will be held throughout the weekend at multiple venues throughout the City of Maitland. The weekend of festivities will include a range of activities and events from family reunions and school fetes through to movie marathons, dance parties, car shows and global beats festival. Activities will be designed to suit all age brackets and interest groups. Built upon old fashioned values of family and mateship, the highlight of the weekend will be Maitland's attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest simultaneous sleepover held in multiple locations. Local residents will be encouraged to invite guests to stay with them overnight and register their stay online or through various locations around the City to be included in the record attempt.
